To hold the probe correctly is one of the most important things when you perform an ultrasound examination, especially in the study of musculoskeletal system. The probe is close firmly with the first three fingers of the hand, the wrist not flexed and the left two fingers free, make contact with the body surface to be scanned. The movements must be done very slowly, taking care to maintain perfectly perpendicular the main axis of the probe with the anatomical segment that you are studying.
